Lets get started!!

Since 1999 thousands of music lovers had found these lessons of use. I am happy to say that they are back and in a most useful form..

The basis of Phil’s composition course is to rerecord music yourself. We do this by hand copying music or by using technology or both. That is; creating holographs, recording, midi, computers etc. We then work from models to create our own original work.

In this way you can learn as composers have for centuries. I would suggest that you start without a music program, that is, copying out compositions by hand.

You will need materials. Get a harmony and counterpoint book, a musical dictionary and of course piano music from the classical era or earlier.  That Schirmer sonatina book is good place to start.
Chose your own book, used ones are good. In fact get more than one to see and understand different approaches.

Have Fun and Good Luck!
